SeneGambia

About SeneGambia

An independent travel directory built for one of West Africa's most welcoming corners.

Why we built this

The Gambia and Senegal share a river, a border, and a way of welcoming visitors that’s hard to find anywhere else on the continent. But good information about where to stay, what to eat and who to book through has always been scattered across tired guidebooks, thin blog posts and review sites that never made it here.

SeneGambia is our attempt to fix that. We cover hotels, tours, restaurants, transport and everything else a traveller needs — with an obvious bias toward places run by the people who live here.

How we choose what to list

We don’t accept payment for a listing. Every place on the site is included because we believe it’s genuinely worth a traveller’s time. Featured placements are editorial decisions, not ad slots.

When you see a Verifiedbadge it means we’ve either visited in person, spoken to the owner, or confirmed the listing’s details with a trusted local contact. Everything else is researched from public information, cross-referenced, and reviewed before publishing.

How we make money

Where possible, we link to booking partners like Booking.com, Viator and GetYourGuide. If you book through those links we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That commission funds the site and the people who write it.

Who we are

SeneGambia is run from Banjul by a small editorial team who split their time between The Gambia and Senegal. We work with local photographers, guides and writers across both countries to keep listings honest and up to date.
