About
Le Lagon 1 is built on stilts over the water on the Petite Corniche, and the tables at the far end feel as though you're dining at sea. It's an upscale seafood restaurant where the kitchen lets the produce do the talking: lobster, tiger prawns, oysters and grilled thiof, all local and spectacularly fresh, with French touches and a few vegetarian options alongside. Sunset is the moment to aim for, when the light hits the water and the city softens behind you — so book ahead, especially for a weekend evening or a table right out over the lagoon. At around £45 a head it's a treat rather than an everyday meal, but for the setting and the seafood it's money well spent. For a memorable dinner on the Dakar waterfront, it's a long-standing favourite.
